Broncos @ Chiefs is a mid-season must win for Denver
What's this? The hopeless Broncos are in the hunt? You're kidding me, right? You mean to tell me that if they can march into Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday and beat the Chiefs they will be 1 game behind Oakland for the lead in the AFC West?

Once again, the Broncos lose by 8
Our Denver Broncos had a beautiful opportunity to hold onto a piece of the AFC West lead today but they totally "eight" it.
There's a common sentiment in Denver that you "can't blame Orton" for losses like these; yet, once again, his timid, ineffectual playing style (along with John Fox's play calling) cost the Broncos a win.
Denver could not take advantage of a team seemingly trying to hand over a the game. Just like the Raiders, Tennessee attempted suicide repeatedly only to come out alive. They committed needless penalties, turned the ball over, pasted a bulls eye on their chests and begged the Broncos to take the kill shot ... and they couldn't.
There simply has to be a part for Tim Tebow in the Broncos offensive game plan. As soon as they get inside the 20 yard line John Fox needs to call in #15. It's abundantly obvious to us that Orton can't get it done in the Red Zone. Yeah, he had that pass to McGahee - and that was great - but it was in heavy traffic and he was really lucky it was completed. After that Orton gagged.
We're not calling for Fox to bench Kyle Ortin in favor of Tim Tebow. We are calling for Fox to use both players' strengths. Orton can "manage" a game for him and Tebow can break one open when need be. When what's called for is a methodical, check-down filled slow march down the field is called for, Orton is the man. When a touchdown is needed on 1st and 2, Tebow is. It doesn't seem that complicated.
Final score: Broncos 14, Titans 17. Well, at least we covered the spread.

Raiders Janikowski charged with "false imprisonment"
Raiders' place kicker Sebastian Janikowski is charged with battery and false imprisonment of a woman in 2010. Janikowski has a rap sheet a mile long. He's been involved in numerous bar fights and was even picked up once for posession of the date rape drug GHB.
He's been trouble-free since 2007 until these latests allegations surfaced. Janikowski, of course, tied Jason Elam's NFL record with a 63 yard FG versus the Broncos on Monday Night - which is probably the only reason we felt compelled to mention this story. We are vindictive like that.

I never really liked sports until I had a religious conversion when the Broncos lost to the 49ers in that one Super Bowl. Now I'm obsessed with all aspects of the Denver pro sports world. Oh yeah, I hate college football. It's crap. Talk to me on twitter @johnreidydenverRecent items
