The10-6 Broncos will win the AFC West

There was much we did not yet know about the 2011 Broncos before the season began.  We did, however, project them finishing the season 10-6.  They will.  And they will win the AFC West for the first time since 2005.  We'll explain how.

It was a nutty week in the NFL - but aren't they all?  Coming into week 12, Reidy and Colin were knotted up at 76-74-5 in their annual NFL pickoff VS the spread.  Reidy went 9-7.  Colin went 7-9.  That means that Reidy takes the lead, 85-81-5 to 83-83-5.

Things are heating up, you guys.  The bye weeks are behind us and we've only got 5 regular season games left.  The fellahs will keep this contest rolling through the Superbowl, though.

Chargers piss it away in overtime

San Diego kicker Nick Novak had two chances to beat the Broncos in overtime. He wet himself. Matt Prater lifted the lid on another Broncos win.

Our NFL Week 12, Picks vs. the Spread

Reidy and Colin have been picking each and every NFL game VS the spread all season now, battling the odds in all-out race for football supremacy.   As the regular season reaches it’s autumn, the fellows find themselves deadlocked.  With each passing week the pressure builds.  Who can establish dominance?  Who can pull ahead?  Who will be VICTORIOUS!?
Here’s how the fellows see it going down week 12.

The Broncos' trip to San Diego is the most important trip they have made in two seasons.  Smack the 'Bolts down at their place and Norv Turner move to the back of the AFC West, gasping for air with Kyle Orton and the KC Chiefs.  It might even cost Norv his job.  If that happens you can bid the Chargers farewell in the division.

The Broncos stand to be over .500 and in a chase with the Raiders for a division title if they can take care of business.  And take care of business, they will.  The defense is going to stand tall, contributing 14 points to the Broncos total.  Tim Tebow will run one in on offense and Matt Prater will throw up three for the special teams.

Phil Rivers will throw for over 250 and 2 TD's but it won't be enough to overcome his own mistakes.

Justin Wheeler at Bleacher Report, home of the pop-up, popped up some photos of Nike's mock-ups of proposed NFL unis for 2012, when they take over as the official supplier to the league.  This potential Broncos get-up, complete with the return of the "D", is the coolest one of them all.

We can only home that this design is final.  Yes, the Broncos won Superbowls with the new "horse design" but, with Elway at the helm and a need for the organization to reconnect with it's past, the time is right to make the switch back.  Do it, Denver!  Bring back the "D".

Our Thanksgiving day NFL Picks vs. the Spread

Whoa!  Reidy and Colin are tied in their NFL pickoff VS the spread.  This is a big week, you guys.  It all starts on Thanksgiving with a remarkable set of Holiday games certain to allow fans to completely ignore their families.  Here’s how the gents see the Turkey day games going down.

News just hit the wire (and by "wire" we mean Twitter) that Kyle Orton was released by the Denver Broncos.  They didn't have to do that.  With the NFL trade deadline having passed, this is the only way for Orton to land with another team.  Kansas City, Houston and Chicago all recently lost their starters to injuries.  This move by the Broncos means that Kyle becomes the hottest free agent on the market by far.

Now Orton will have an opportunity to land squarely on his feet.  Broncos fans can be proud of their favorite team today.  This is an ultra high-class move - even if it is fiscally motivated.  Way to go!
