One has to feel badly for the folks in the marketing department over at Kroenke Sports. They have worked hard for months to hype up the big Nuggets / Heat game at Pepsi Center tonight only to have the Mayor declare this "Orange Friday".
The Nuggets had to figure that the big, bad Broncos would be an afterthought by now. Instead, they are stealing all the Thunder. Not that Pepsi Center won't be packed. It certainly will be.
This is one of those MONSTER games for the Nuggets organization. Teams build ticket packages around visits from mega-stars like Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. As exciting as the home team is, the Heat are a National story. A dream team, as it were.
A rising tide lifts all boats, right? Denver is sports crazy right now. As much as tomorrow's Broncos game is all anyone is talking about, the Nuggets will help us calm our nerves a bit. They'll provide a needed distraction so that we don't chew our fingernails down to the nubs tonight.
After things simmer down at the Civic Center and folks finally turn off Sports Center, we can tune into Altitude and let the Denver Nuggets take the floor for two or three hours.
GO NUGGETS! BEAT THE HEAT!
