Pete Prisco didn't exactly endear himself to Colorado during the previous NFL season. The guy was constantly all over Tim Tebow - bashing the kid every chance he got. Broncos fans who already thought Prisco was a blowhard became utterly convinced that he was a spawn of the Devil.
Somehow, old Prisco managed to visit town this week, though, and leave without encountering any angry fans. We invited him in to do the South Stands Denver Fancast with us but we weren't surprised when he turned us down. We said some pretty nasty things to him on Twitter throughout last season.
Prisco isn't so critical of the Orange and Blue anymore. In fact, he came away from Broncos' mandatory minicamps very impressed. Here are a few of his tweets from today (since most of you probably blocked him in December):
As I leave Denver I do so more impressed with Broncos than I thought I would be
Broncos have good QB and great pass rushers and good cover people including one great corner that is a lot of important pieces
Ps: Qb might be great again
Old Pete even got himself a nice interview with defensive old-timer, Champ Bailey, who told Prisco that he can play as well as he could when he was still a pup.
"I am still as good as I was when I was 22 or 23," Bailey said during a break between practices here during the team's minicamp. "I can't run as fast as I did then or jump as high. But I am smarter. I know how to take care of my body better. I know how to anticipate things a little better. I understand football a lot better, which keeps me on top of my game."
Bailey told Prisco that he can still run a 4.3 40 yard dash even though he's entering his 14th season in the NFL.
They say that time heals all wounds. Maybe Denver's ready to forgive and forget.
