The day following the arrest of Broncos' cornerback Perrish Cox the South Stands caught wind that his victim might have been drugged. In fact, our source colored it as a certainty.
We were told that Cox and his accomplices had attended "Club Beta" which offered bottle service and that "his" and "hers" drinks were on the table. One woman, who apparently read meaning into the separate beverages, left. Camille Washington stayed and, according to the lawsuit she has filed against Perrish Cox and wide receiver, Demaryius Thomas, became incapacitated after only one drink - a lemon drop shot - and was later impregnated unknowingly by Cox.
The details spelled out in the suit very closely resemble those we were given.
Cox was found not guilty of raping Washington. Demaryuis Thomas was never charged. Both men are now being sued - and the story of what happened that night (and over the following weeks) will be told once again.
Westword's Michael Roberts read the lawsuit and posted this story last night.
Along with providing a link to the law suit its self, Roberts reveals some salacious details. One such detail is that, upon learning that she was pregnant, Perrish Cox texted Washington (who's name does not appear in Roberts' story):
"Not my problem I didn't touch ya.. its ur problem to get ur stuff together.. I didn't fuck ya."
"Have told u.. I dont need kids.. I don't want u going to court to spend ur money when u can [GO] to clinic."
DNA testing revealed that the pregancy was by Perrish Cox. So, despite his denials and her inability to recall having had sex with him, it is clear that Cox deposited his sperm inside of her. Still, prosecutors were unable to establish proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
Washington's lawyers will not have to establish such proof if the civil trial.
As a Broncos fan I want to know if Demaryius Thomas was involved in drugging the woman for the sake of having easy sex with her. A lot of folks have given hime the benefit of the doubt and shifted the blame for what happened to Perrish Cox. Thomas is a star on the Broncos - fans do not want to face the possibility that he could have done something so horrible.
One horrible thing we all now know he did was to leave her in that apartment. Thomas should have made sure that she got home safely. Her lawyer agrees and that's why Thomas is named in the suit.
For all anyone knows this thing will be settled out of court. If that happens people are likely to see Washington as a money-grubber. That's inherently unfair.
