I'm a grown man. This one caused me to well up - for real. Renaldo Hill's pass interference penalty on Sanchez's last-gasp pass, the all-too-familiar Tomlinson TD, the fumble by Orton. Too much. Everything was going so well.
The Broncos dominated from the beginning. There were highlights galore. Tebow ran for his first NFL touchdown. Sanchez threw two picks. The Broncos defense bottled up L.T. (for the most part). The running game was working (kinda). Revis Island was a tourist destination. Invesco was so loud that the cameras were shaking. The Broncos looked sharp in their home orange. 75 degrees. The favored Jets were going down. A perfect day in Denver...right up until the end.
The broncos needed a win today in the worst way. Every other team in the AFC West lost. EVERY SINGLE ONE! The Chargers to the Rams, the Chiefs to the Texans and the Raiders to the 'Niners. The Broncos would have been a half-game behind the Chiefs for the division lead at 3-3. Instead, they 2-4 and reeling.
Is it a hopeless situation? Probably not. It sure feels that way, though. A big orange bubble burst today. My heart is aching. It was a Black Sunday.
