Getting Manning, I believe, was as much about getting rid of not just Tebow, but the culture of play and work ethic within the passing aspect of the game. Orton and Tebow had this in common: a 6 game winning streak while starting for the Broncos and both ended their tenure as the starting QB for Denver with a 1-4 record. Jay Cutler had all the talent but not a winning record nor the work ethic. Plummer had a winning record, best since Elway, but not the work ethic. Griese also had a winning record, but he was the rebound girl. Did Tebow have the work ethic? In the weight room, perhaps, but not in the film room as evidenced by comments from Adam Gase.

It's a great premise and all, but I'm leaning the other direction. I think he comes here starts a dynasty that Ossie (first Black Sabbath album) continues. He and his family fall in love with Denver because well...why wouldn't you? He eventually becomes the Broncos head coach and at that point who really cares if he goes into the HOF as a Colt? Probably not going to happen that way, but what if it did?

Great article and very much human nature to feel this way. One totally minor item to point out. Front Range Airport is way out east near DIA. The airport that was a short drive to Dove Valley is Centennial Airport.

Feels pretty "right" to me! He's like the lady with teenage kids you're dating, but the kids don't matter because she is hot as f*ck! The last guy bought her a brand new set of titties too!

Okay, yes it does feel like dating someone who has teenage kids. However what Manning has brought to the team are players who want to play football with him. By coming to the Broncos he also brought back Stokley, and brought in Jacob Tamme. The gaping holes that we had last season have been filled, and the Broncos finally have some depth.
